The Touch of Faith

Heb. 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith is the substance of the things hope for! The evidence of the things not seen!

How many in here have a hope for?

What is that hope for that you have believed God for?

Some of you are hoping for healing, money to make ends meet, loved one coming to

the Lord, for things to just go right and that life would just be simple easy without

the difficulty that just seems to keep coming at you.

The Bible in Mark 5 gives us a wonderful story of a woman who had a hope for, a woman that

was looking for the evidence of a circumstance that she had not seemed and she felt that

she was at the end of her rope.  She going to show us The Touch of Faith!

Let look at her condition vv. 25-26

When we look at this we many times just think of the woman sickness, she had this

sickness for 12 long yr.! How many know that this must have been a terrible way to live!

But there is something else here that we kind of just miss because we just think of

the sickness that she has a issue of blood!

But not only did she have this condition of sickness but she also was defiled 

Lev. 15: 19-20

And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart

seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even.

And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that

she sitteth upon shall be unclean.

She was not to be touched; she was to be put apart! It another words she was a

Lonely Person no one wanted anything to do with her!

Not only was she defiled, but also she was an outcast

Can you imagine how she felt like? How many know she had a hope for!

How many know that she had a need to reach out in the touch of faith!

If you don’t know Jesus you are defiled and outcast Isa. 64: 6

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we All

do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. But your iniquities

have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his Face from you, that

he will not hear.

v. 26 Suffering, she was penniless she had come to the end!

Notice others who when they had spent all, came to their senses and to God. The son who

had asked for his inheritance, went, and spends it foolish he finds himself taking care of pigs

and so hunger that he eats the pigs food and he think to himself my father is rich, his

servants are better of than I am, if I go back to my Father I can at Least eat right!

You might be thinking I haven’t gotten to that place where you are penniless, eating

pigs food but if you don’t know Jesus you are spiritually bankrupt!

Hopeless “many physicians”

Of today: Mans ways to trying to find God, healing for the spiritually bankrupt lives false

Religions! Modernism, Christian science, Mormonism,

Each with a sure cure for sin but not one of them can help!

Eph. 2:12 -?

There is only on physicians for those who are spiritually bankrupt! And His name is Jesus!

vv. 27-28

Her faith

Faith’s basis v. 27

She heard about Jesus: The healing of the demoniac man, The Paralytic that was brought to

Jesus by his four friends!

That why testimony of what God is doing is so powerful!

That why reading the Word is so powerful So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

She had heard about Jesus she had seem that the living word was passing by and she needed to reach out with the touch of faith!

Faith’s simplicity: v. 28

She believed in His ability to save! Heb. 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that

he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Mark 9:23

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Lk. 8:50

But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she

shall be made whole.

Jairus don’t be afraid, you gotten a bad report “believe only" He says the same to you!

Faith’s boldness v. 24 

She came in spite of the crowd she did not allow the crowd to scare her away!

There is always “a crowd “ to keep a person away from coming to know Jesus as Lord!

Jer. 29:13

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Jer. 1:8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.

Don’t be afraid to stand up for what you know is right in the sight of God!

Don’t be afraid to stand up against the crowd that will tell you how do you know if there is a

God or not, Don’t be afraid of the demonic crowd that speak to your circumstances and say

that God can’t won’t!

It time just as this woman did when it seemed impossible to get the one who had the cure,

the answer to her circumstances of life to push through the crowd that was keeping her

away And I kind think she was desperate enough to push some people out of her way!

To the place of where she could reach out in the touch of faith!

It time to push the crowd away! It time to push the crowd away I don’t know what crowd

standing in your way, I think that just as there were all kinds of different people in the crowd

the woman had to push through, there are different circumstances (crowds)in your life you

got to get out of your way of the touch of faith! It’s time to push through that crowd in

Jesus name!

Faith’s attitude: v. 24 

She came as she was! She didn’t try to any more remedies or attempts to make herself feel

better before she came!

Oh I got to quit doing this or that, I not ready just yet I got to get this done first!

No she came just as she was why? Her very needs drove her to the one who had the

answer to her circumstances!

It’s time to push through to get your miracle, your healing, your needs met by a the

Touch of faith!

Faith’s Objective v. 27

She touched Him the one who is the answer to all our circumstances, she touched Him the

source of her healing, she touched the One in whom all the answer for Mankind is

She realized her only hope for laid in the Jesus and she needed a realized it lay in a Personal

contact with the Son of God ( I got reach out with the touch of faith)

John 1: 12

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God,

Even to them that believe on his name:

Her Blessing v. 29-34

She was cured! V. 29

I want us to see this:

There is healing virtue in Christ because of:

Who He is! The Holy sinless Son of God!

What He has done: Isaiah 53:5-6

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the

chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and

the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

1 Peter 2:24

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins,

should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

 2 Cor. 5:20-21

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we

pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.For he hath made him to be sin

for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

This virtue is sufficient for the most desperate case!

Heb. 7:25

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by

him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

This virtue goes out at the touch of faith

Eph. 2:8

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

This virtue is consciously given and consciously received “I perceive”

“She felt”

1 John 3:16

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we

ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

She knew that she knew!

1 John 5:13-15

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God;

that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of

the Son of God. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any

thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us,

whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

It time to push through in the touch of faith! 

She confessed v. 33

Now remember she is consider a woman that is defiled an outcast that has reach out

And touch a rabbi a teacher, the master!

She thought I am going to stone for this! I will surely be taken out the city to the

desert to die alone now!

But something had happen to her she had a knowledge to something that had taking

place in her life!

I know that I know that I had this issue of blood for 12 yrs. And I tried everything

But when I reach out with the touch of faith I know that I been healed!

Oh I once was blind but now I see! I once was lost but now I found!

1 John 4:16-19

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he

that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made

perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are

we in this world. Where is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because

fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

We love him, because he first loved us.

he is comforted and assured v. 34

Lk. 8:48

And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee

whole; go in peace.

It alright you push through the crowd, you were detriment that nothing was going to

get in your way!

Kind of remind me of Blind Bart! Jesus is passing by he also has heard of the

miracles of Jesus and Here he is begging all his live and there is a noisy crowd going

by and he hear people shouting out Jesus! Jesus!

And can you imagine how he might of felt hopeless I never get Jesus attention with

this large crowd(circumstances) around me! But he had a hope for, He had a need

for a evidence not seen yet! And He knew that couldn’t reach out with the touch of

faith but he could cry out in the cry of faith! “Jesus the Son of David have mercy on

me! 3x

And that crowd told him to shut up Jesus does have time for you! He can’t possibility

hear you in this crowd! But the Word tell us that when Jesus hear the cry of faith He

stool still! To hear the cry!

Heaven a noisy place worship is going on and on to the almighty God!

But when someone cry out in faith all heaven stop to hear that cry!

And just as Jesus told them when He hear Bart crying out! Bring him to me

He can’t get to me because of the crowd to reach out with the touch of faith

But I hear his cry of faith bring him to me! Bart what do you want from me!

And the Master the one of whom Bart and the woman had faith in the one that they

Knew they needed to touch with faith

Reach out to touch their faith with His power to bring that hope for the evidence

That was not seem yet to pass with the Master touch!

It time to reach out, It time to cry out with faith to the One who is able too!

He passing by right now! What Your crowd?

The crowd of doubt, the crowd of uncertainly the crowd of I don’t think It my

time yet the crowd of you don’t deserve his touch, the crowd of circumstance that

have reach so high in your live that it seem like there a wall around you and no one

can see you and truly God has forgotten you!

The crowd what is your crowd? Will you push through today your opportunity is

passing by! Will you let Him get out of sight! Will you let yourself think it’s impossible

to reach out with the touch of faith!

Will you push to this altar and cry out with the touch of faith?

If You do I believe that your answer, your hope for,that evidence that you been looking

for is about to be realized hope, evidence that will be seem!
